Gender and DE&I

WPC Energy is committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the role of women within the energy sector. The Untapped Reserves survey, in partnership with BCG, is the only recurring gender and DE&I study in the energy industry which tracks female representation within energy and shares best practices from companies excelling in this area. WPC Energy gender and DE&I initiatives are guided by a Taskforce comprising member companies as well as external stakeholders. The Taskforce’s first project is Women10x, which has created an ambitious online community where HR, DE&I, and business leaders can share best practices in order to drive systemic change within energy (www.women10x.org). The recent Women10x Summit, held in Calgary in June 2025, served as a platform to highlight and empower women in energy, promoting diversity and leadership development across all levels of the global industry.

The WPC Energy Congress and Youth Forum both feature Women in Industry Programmes including dedicated breakfast events, panel sessions, workshops, exhibition presence and networking events.

The WPC Energy Excellence Awards feature a dedicated gender category that recognises organisations that are successfully fostering gender diversity through impactful policies.
