Biography of Dr. Fu Yongqiang
Dr. Fu Yongqiang serves as the Vice President of the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development (RIPED), PetroChina, based in Beijing, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Oil and Gas Field Development from Southwest Petroleum University in 2003 and joined Schlumberger China that same year as a Reservoir Engineer, where he was engaged in technical consulting. In 2006, he entered the Postdoctoral Program of PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas field Company to conduct research on tight gas development. He joined PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas field Company in 2008, working on the completion and reservoir stimulation of unconventional gas reservoirs and high-sulfur gas reservoirs. During this period, he also served as the General Manager of the PetroChina and BP joint shale gas exploration and development project in China. In 2022, he was appointed Chief Engineer of PetroChina Dagang Oilfield, where he was involved in onshore and shallow offshore oil and gas development.
