Elena Hajekova

Deputy Head, Department of Organic Technology, Catalysis & Petroleum Technology

Slovak University of Technology

Associate Professor Elena Hajekova works as a university teacher, researcher, and principal investigator of numerous successful research projects in the field of crude oil technology and the production of alternative fuels. Her work centres on the scientific domains of thermal and catalytic transformations of hydrocarbons into petrochemicals and the synthesis of motor fuels from alternative raw materials. She has authored 52 original scientific publications in internationally recognised journals, which have attracted significant attention from other researchers. Her research encompasses the investigation of product distribution and coke formation during the steam cracking of hydrocarbon reach feedstocks of different origin as well as the cracking of waste plastics. In addition, she has pioneered research in the field of feedstock recycling of waste polyalkenes through thermal and catalytic processes at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia.
