Jerzy Stopa, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. is full professor of petroleum engineering at the AGH University of Krakow, Poland. He also works as reservoir engineer in Polish Oil and Gas Company, Exploration and Production Branch at ORLEN SA. His research interests include mathematical and computer modeling in petroleum and gas engineering with an emphasis on reservoir simulation and optimization, underground energy storage, and carbon sequestration. Prof. Stopa earned a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics (1981), Ph.D. (1985) and D.Sc. (Habilitation) (1997) in Petroleum Engineering, all from AGH. Prof. Stopa is an author of over 310 scientific papers including presentations at World Petroleum Congresses and World Gas Conferences. He is also co-author of 4 books and author and principal investigator of more than 50 technical reports for the petroleum industry.
