Kairzhan Abdykhalykov

Kairzhan Abdykhalykov – PhD in international economic relations, Assistant Professor of KBTU Business School, chairman of the Civil Alliance of Almaty, member of the Public Council of Almaty. Member of the National Council of Stakeholders (NCS) from civil society (elected for 3 years). Hе has a qualification in the specialty "Manager in Education" (qualification level according to ORK-8) from the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan. Completed internships at Abertay University of Dundee (Scotland), at the Prague University of Economics (VSE, Czech Republic), CCAF CDS, University of Cambridge (UK), and at the European Academy of Berlin (Germany).  
He is an expert in the field of SDGs and ESG. He is the developer and author of 2 courses on ESG for master's degree students of the MBA Program and undergraduate students of the Finance, Management and Marketing Programs. He is a business consultant in the field of corporate governance, a business trainer and a designer of trainings and courses in the field of vocational business education. 
He is an expert of the NJSC "Kazakhstan Institute of Public Development", NJSC "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives", Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Member of the Almaty Regional Group of the National Preventive Mechanism under the Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (elected for 2023–2024). Member of the Expert Group under the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan. Member of the Coordination Council for Interaction with NGOs under the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Member of the Consultative and Advisory Body "Dialogue Platform on the Human Dimension" under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. External expert of the Research Center for Sustainable Business Practices at the University of Northampton, UK. 
Based on the implementation of the grant of the Almaty Akimat, the Civil Alliance of Almaty which is supervised by Dr Kairzhan Abdykhalykov organized the Center for Public Monitoring of the Implementation of the UN SDGs in Almaty, since July 2024. Based on the results of the implementation, databases of projects of government agencies and NGOs will be formed regarding the implementation of 17 SDGs in Almaty. The project involved 4 industry experts and representatives of 7 leading universities in Almaty. Memorandums were signed with JSC "Almaty City Development Center", the EcoJer Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives and the analytical portal "Ranking.kz".
