Kevin Birn

Kevin Birn is responsible for a team of GHG experts tasked with advancing GHG emissions quantification and ensuring consistency in across S&P Global’s Commodity Insights businesses. In this role Kevin provides strategic guidance on energy related GHG emissions estimation and research. Kevin has over a decade of experience in GHG estimation and advising energy clients on their GHG strategies. Kevin is also an established thought leader on the Canadian oil market as serves as the Chief Analyst for the Canadian Oil Market. He has authored nearly one hundred reports related to North American crude oil markets. Kevin is a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affair Institute and is often called upon to provide media commentary or brief senior industry and government officials. Prior to S&P Global and its predecessor organizations, Kevin was a Senior Economist with the Government of Canada and a Partner in a software firm.
