Martin Hablutzel is responsible for the Sustainable Energy Systems portfolio activities of Siemens Energy for Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The portfolio includes hydrogen electrolysers, Power-to-X and hybrid energy solutions.
Martin’s expertise covers hydrogen technology solutions, electrical power systems applications, business case development and energy technology business management. He has a keen interest in emerging technologies and applications along the whole energy value chain.
Martin has been heavily involved in promoting the opportunities for hydrogen technology through market development, advisory groups, industry associations, government dialog, speaking engagements and interviews. Martin leads an international team of specialists promoting hydrogen electrolyser technology for large scale applications including Power to X (including ammonia, methanol), green iron and long distance transport (including shipping and aviation).
Martin began his career at the (then) Hydro Electric Commission in Tasmania, joining Siemens in 1997 as a protection and control engineer. Subsequent roles in project engineering, project management, asset management, sales, marketing and executive management have given Martin broad exposure to the deployment of energy solutions in diverse industries.
Martin holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tasmania and an MBA from Deakin University. Martin is based in Melbourne, Australia.
