Khalid Ali AlRuwaigh is the Chief Executive Officer of The Arab Energy Fund. Since his appointment in May 
2022, he embarked on a transformative mission of realigning the strategic direction and company brand 
in support of growth. This included a revised 5-year business strategy to re-focus the role of TAEF as a 
leading impact multilateral finance organization working to support a sustainable and secure energy 
landscape for the region. 
Prior to joining TAEF, he held several C-level positions including the post of CEO of Emirates NBD (ENBD) 
Capital in Riyadh where he led the successful transformation of the business and supporting product 
development, quadrupling revenue and turning it from a loss-making venture into profitability.
Mr AlRuwaigh spent nearly 7 years with Naseel Holding, as Chief Investment Officer, where he oversaw
international and regional portfolios covering multi asset classes including Equity, Fixed Income, Private 
Equity, & Hedge Funds. He also led a couple of successful transactions including Real estate
Developments, and Direct Equity Investments.
During his earlier career, he moved up the ranks within Alrajhi Capital – a leading capital markets 
investment and advisory services firm in KSA. Starting as an Analyst, he went on to become the Head of 
Equity Research, where he covered multiple sectors. 
Mr. Khalid holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from King Saud University and Master of 
Business Administration (MBA) from California State University. In addition, he is an active member of 
several boards and committees
