Deena Alaasim

Deena Alaasim is a SOCPA Fellow, licensed U.S. Certified Public Accountant, and Certified Management Accountant, with a professional background spanning finance, accounting, external audit, governance, and the energy sector. 

She currently works in audit at the Ministry of Energy, where her work supports the financial oversight of Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas sector. In this role, she applies her technical accounting and audit background to matters involving major petroleum and gas companies, with a focus on the reliability of financial information, royalty and income tax computations, regulatory compliance, and concession-related financial obligations. 

Prior to joining the Ministry, Deena developed a strong foundation in external audit and assurance through her Big Four experience, working with listed and government-related entities across highly regulated and capital-intensive sectors, including energy and oil and gas. This experience strengthened her understanding of financial reporting, governance, internal controls, and the expectations placed on large organizations operating in complex business environments. 

Her combined experience in government financial oversight, Big Four audit, and the energy sector gives her a practical understanding of the finance, governance, and reporting considerations that shape complex energy organizations.
