 Daulet Zhakupov is the Acting Head of the Hydrogen Department at KMG Engineering, where he oversees the development and implementation of low-carbon hydrogen technologies and supports national decarbonization initiatives. He holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering from Nazarbayev University and possesses over nine years of research and engineering experience in hydrogen production, process simulation, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). 
Mr. Zhakupov has played a key role in advancing Kazakhstan’s hydrogen agenda through technical leadership on pilot-scale projects, consulting the development of the country’s hydrogen development concept. His expertise is further strengthened by international professional training in Japan, Italy, and the United States, focusing on hydrogen utilization, sustainable energy systems, and methane emissions management. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications addressing the energy transition, hydrogen economy, and combustion of alternative fuels.
