Abdulaziz Al-Shafi

Abdulaziz Al-Shafi is the Vice President of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Aramco. In his role, he is responsible for the overall cybersecurity strategy, governance, protection, as well as the cyber defense operations. As a Group CISO, Al-Shafi is in charge of the cybersecurity oversight of Aramco Affiliates.  

Abdulaziz has been with Aramco for more than three decades. In the leadership experience, he was the director of Computer Operations Department, at which time he led the establishment of Aramco Corporate Data Center. He then joined Jazan Program under Projects Management organization in 2016, where he led the construction of marine terminal, crude pipelines, and industrial city infrastructure. In 2022, he became the Vice President of IT Infrastructure, after which he was appointed in 2025 as Vice President of Cybersecurity and CISO.    

Abdulaziz holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM and attended leadership development training such as; Asia Business & Culture Program, Oxford Advanced Management & Leadership Program, and Aramco Management Development programs. He also serves as a board member of ASMO and Cognite companies.
