Bander Alkhamies

Bandar A. Alkhamies is the Vice President for Strategy Affairs Aramco overseeing Strategy, Growth, Technology and Policies.   

 
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Alkhamies was named Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Planning in March 2019. Before that, he served as the Head of Regional Investor Relations at Saudi Aramco.  

 
Alkhamies' career spans more than 20 years of experience and covers multiple fields ranging from Energy Economics, Energy Transition, International Relations, and Strategy Development. Throughout his career, he held key leadership roles and board memberships, including:  

 
- Campaign Manager, Saudi Arabia's campaign for the director general at the World Trade Organization 
- Secretary General for the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council 
- Head of Saudi Arabia's Development Working Group at the G20 
- Chairman of the Senior Committee for Economic and Development Affairs at the Gulf Cooperation Council 
- Chairman/Vice Chairman of joint committees between Saudi Arabia and several countries 
- Manager of Energy Industries at the World Economic Forum in Geneva  
- Head of Southern Area Upstream Facilities Development at Saudi Aramco 
- Coordinator for the Young Leaders Advisory Board, Saudi Aramco 
- Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Saudi Arabia section 

 
In addition, Alkhamies has served on several boards and committees, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center-Saudi Arabia, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum; Women Development & Diversity Advisory Board for Saudi Aramco.  

 
For his contribution during his Chairmanship of the Saudi section of SPE, He received the Outstanding Young Member award and the Saudi Section received the Most Active Section Award from SPE-International. 

 
Alkhamies is a Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum and has completed Leadership Training at Harvard Kennedy School, London Business School, INSEAD, Wharton, China-Europe International Business School, and Columbia University. He holds two master’s degrees, one in Advanced Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum and the second in Petroleum Engineering and International Petroleum Management from Texas A&M. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University, USA.
