Leif-Erik Schulte is the Head of the Institute of Automotive Technology and Mobility at TÜV NORD MOBILITÄT (TNM) with locations in Hanover, Essen and Wolfsburg as well as other international offices. Leif-Erik Schulte holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has been working for TÜV NORD and its predecessor organisations in various positions since 1996.
Technically, Mr. Schulte deals with homologation and type approval testing activities for motor vehicles in accordance with European (EC / ECE) and worldwide regulations (Japan, China, USA, etc.) as well as with the current trends in automated and connected driving.
In this role, Mr. Schulte also deals intensively with issues relating to fuels for use in combustion engines; e-fuels, biofuels, HVO and the like. In addition to exhaust gas and consumption measurements with such fuels on combustion engines of all kinds on the in-house test benches, the focus is also on approval law and questions of environmental concerns as well as the availability of such fuels.
As Head of Technical Services at TÜV NORD Mobility, Mr. Schulte is also active in various national and European committees and working groups and holds a lectureship at the Technical University of Braunschweig.
