Hamad M. Al Marri is Vice President of Gas Engineering & Development at Aramco, with over 30 years of leadership in the oil and gas industry. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, an MS in Petroleum Engineering, and an MBA. Hamad previously served as Vice President of Production Engineering & Well Completion Operations and Chief Petroleum Engineer. He directed several Upstream departments, including Southern Area Production Engineering, Shaybah, and Khurais Production. He founded Aramco’s Unconventional Gas Engineering team, shaping strategies for South Ghawar and Jafurah Basin. As a respected industry leader, Hamad serves on the SPE International Board of Directors, chairs its Audit Committee, and was SPE International Technical Director for Production and Facilities. Technically, he pioneered the MENA region’s first CO₂ fracturing in a gas well and Saudi Arabia’s first horizontal multistage proppant fracturing in a carbonate reservoir. He has authored multiple SPE papers on production technology and operations
