Weiguo Shan

 Mr. Shan Weiguo is Chief Academician at CNPC Economics and Technology Research Institute (ETRI). He once served as a visiting scholar at International Energy Forum (IEF) at Riyadh, KSA and, as Secretary General of Asian Gas Market Forum (AGMF) and China Center of Northeast Asia Gas and Pipeline Forum (NAGPF). Mr Shan is now Lead Shepherd of the APEC Energy Working Group (EWG) for 2025-2026. 
Mr. Shan has over 30 years of energy industry expertise, focusing on oil & gas market, energy project financing, energy transition strategy, energy security strategy and international energy governance.  
Mr. Shan is a panelist or moderator at recent energy events, like CERA-Week, ADIPEC, WPC, WGC, Sino-US Energy Dialogues (OGIF) and Sino-Canada Track II Energy Dialogues, etc. he is frequently requested to have peer review on related reports by top energy think-tanks and that by international energy organizations, like IEA, OPEC, Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and Energy Charter, etc. 
Mr. Shan is an author of wide-ranging professional articles. He is often invited to lectures in university classes and symposiums or forums, interviewed by news media and consulted by the industry domestic and abroad.
